Tank measurement hardware

Rochester's product range spans ultrasonic, radar, pressure and cellular sensors. Below are the devices ACE IoT works with most directly — long-range, battery-powered sensors built for unattended, multi-year field deployment.

Rochester TEK 888 LoRa ultrasonic level monitor
📡
LoRaWAN · Ultrasonic
TEK 888
LoRa Ultrasonic Level Monitor
915 MHz LoRaWAN Up to 15km range Up to 14yr battery life UL C1D2 certified

Non-contact ultrasonic sensor for fuel, oil, lubricant, DEF, coolant and water tanks. Remotely configurable with two-way LoRaWAN communication and low/high level alarms.

How ACE IoT uses it: Fitted to diesel, water and general liquid storage tanks where a site needs long battery life and long-range wireless reach across a large or spread-out property.
Rochester TEK 880 cellular radar tank level monitor
📶
Cellular · Radar
TEK 880
Cellular Radar Tank Monitor
CAT-M1 / NB-IoT Up to 10yr battery life IP68 ATEX / C1D1 certified

A low-profile, non-invasive radar sensor for continuous liquid level measurement — suited to chemicals, petroleum products, diesel, motor oil, hydraulic fluid and waste oil, with both invasive and non-invasive installation options.

How ACE IoT uses it: Selected for sites without LoRaWAN gateway coverage — its cellular connectivity reports straight to the ACE IoT platform, useful for radar-grade accuracy on hazardous-area (ATEX) tanks.
Rochester TEK 790 LoRa propane and LPG tank level monitor
LoRaWAN · Propane/LPG
TEK 790
LoRa Propane / LPG Tank Level Monitor
LoRaWAN ±4% accuracy Up to 15yr battery life ATEX certified

A battery-operated level monitor built specifically for LPG and propane tanks — fixed, mobile, vented, pressurised or underground — with temperature and battery reporting built in.

How ACE IoT uses it: The core sensor behind our LPG Tank Monitoring solution →, feeding tank level data into the ACE IoT dashboard for low-level alerts and AI refill forecasting.
Rochester TEK 839 LoRa ultrasonic waste level sensor
🗑️
LoRaWAN · Waste
TEK 839
LoRa Ultrasonic Waste Level Sensor
868 MHz LoRaWAN Up to 15km range Up to 14yr battery life CE & RoHS

An ultrasonic fill-level sensor for waste bins and containers — glass, metal, cardboard and general refuse — designed for collection route optimisation across large portfolios.

How ACE IoT uses it: Deployed for waste-fill monitoring on facilities management portfolios that need collection scheduling based on actual fill level rather than a fixed calendar.

Specifications above are as published by Rochester Sensors at rochestersensorseurope.com and are provided for reference. ACE IoT selects the specific model, frequency variant and certification appropriate to each project after a site assessment.

Rochester hardware, ACE IoT platform

Rochester Sensors builds the physical measurement device — the part that has to survive years in the field, on a tank, without maintenance. ACE IoT builds everything the sensor connects to: the gateway network, the cloud platform, the dashboard, the alerts and the AI forecasting layer that turns raw level readings into a decision.

This split is deliberate. Rather than building generic IoT sensors from scratch, ACE IoT integrates hardware from a specialist manufacturer with over a century of tank gauging experience — then focuses our own engineering on the connectivity, software and analytics layer for the Nigerian market.

01
Rochester sensor measures the tank
A Rochester device is fitted to the tank and takes level readings on a configurable schedule.
02
Gateway or network receives the data
Readings transmit over LoRaWAN or cellular, depending on the device, to the ACE IoT cloud platform.
03
ACE IoT dashboard and alerts
Levels, alerts and history appear on a live dashboard, with low-level and forecast alerts sent automatically.

Applications across ACE IoT deployments

Rochester's devices cover a wider range of tank and container types than any single ACE IoT solution page — these are the main application areas.

LPG & propane tanks

TEK 790 level monitoring feeding ACE IoT's LPG Tank Monitoring solution for property portfolios and hospitality.

🛢️
Fuel & lubricant tanks

TEK 888 ultrasonic and TEK 880 radar sensors for diesel, oil and lubricant storage across industrial and logistics sites.

💧
Water & wastewater tanks

The same ultrasonic sensor range applied to potable water, wastewater and DEF/AdBlue storage tanks.

🗑️
Waste bins & containers

TEK 839 fill-level sensing for facilities management portfolios optimising waste collection routes.
